In just one year, the number of unhoused students surged by 28%, rising from 47,689 to 61,249—an alarming sign of a deepening crisis.
Behind every number is a young person navigating life alone.
At Youth Foster, we believe that has to change.
With just $100–$120 per youth, we provide critical resources and support that reduce stress, increase confidence, and improve educational outcomes for foster youth across Los Angeles County.
Approximately 30,000 children are currently in foster care, many of whom face significant challenges as they transition out of the system with limited support.
46% of foster youth do not complete high school within two to four years after emancipation, and approximately 40% experience incarceration or rely on public assistance.
